The StormyCallibaetis  Fly of the week: Stormy Callibaetis
One of the most predominant of the mayflies in our region, this week we are spotlighting the callibaetis fly. This particular fly is a prominent food source for trout year round. Learning to tie flies in a number of variations will make you a more successful angler. On still waters this mayfly truly has earned it’s fame. This particular fly works very well when fished during stormy or rough waters, primarily because of the Mylar shuck. I guess fish can see its presence easier. Regardless the next time you are at the tying bench give this fly a try.

Thread: dun or tan
Rib: black fine wire
Body: dun or tan sparkle dubbing
Shuck: pre-formed Mylar
Wing: deer hair tied comparadun style |
